Premiere Parties

The economy's bad, gas is up, it's cold and wintry...but all is well in TV land! It's the greatest time of year because all the good shows are back on. Combine that with my love of parties and you get the ultimate Premiere Party!!

First there was 24.

Thanks to the writer's strike it's been a whole year since we've seen the yummy goodness that is Jack Bauer! So what better way to celebrate than with the yummy goodness of cookies. These were enjoyed at my sister's house as we watched Jack do what he does best!!



Then there was Lost. It just doesn't get any better! Although, after watching the premiere this week, I am more confused than ever...but I love it! Keeps it fresh! And it didn't hurt that Sawyer was shirtless most of the time! I decided to go with cupcakes. Each cupcake had a different scene on top. These were eaten up quickly!

Did anyone else watch the 24 movie,Redemption, last night?

I didn't hear much talk about it at work or on the radio, but I am here to tell you that you most definitely missed out! It was Jack Bauer at his best!


Here's why I like Jack: He can take being tortured by a burning hot knife blade pressed against his ear and 1 minute later, kill the jerk who's doing that to him by snapping his neck with his LEG!

Then he can turn right around and lovingly console a group of African children running for their life by sacrificing his freedom for theirs.

That's the kind of man I'm looking for! A Jack Bauer!

"24" + "Lost" = "Vantage Point"

Last night, I saw a really great movie! Don't worry...no spoilers here! I branched out from my traditional romantic comedy to see Vantage Point. One reason I wanted to see it is because of one of my new favorite shows, Lost! Matthew Fox is just scrumptious!! He plays a secret service agent and let me tell you...he looks go-od in a suit!

But, here's what's really good about the movie. It was a combination of 2 of my absolute favorite shows on tv (I guess you could probably tell that by the title of this post!) The basic premise is that the President of the United States gets shot and it's a "who dunnit" story. What's interesting is that the whole movie literally takes place in about 25-30 minutes, but they show it over and over from different key players' "vantage points".

24 fans: You'll love it because it's a taste of what we've been deprived of for so long (and will continue to be deprived of until January '09!). It's fast-paced, lets-protect-the-president, cool gadgets, think-you've-got-it-figured-out-but-you-really-dont, shaky camera, sit on the edge of your seat entertainment! I mean, if you need a 24 fix, this is the movie to see!!

Lost fans: You'll be hooked by all the different view points. It reminded me of how they go back and show you the character's back story on Lost. You see how they're all intertwined. Unfortunately, there weren't quite as many witty one liners as Sawyer provides for us.
